You may need to reinstall bootskin. If that doesnt work try one of the skins that come with it (Bootskin boot) to see if it is with the skin.

Microsoft lists Bootskin as one of the programs that won't work with SP2. I would suggest you contact Stardock support to see if there is any workaround.

thank you all for taking the time to answer. I do appreciate it! What is happening is that when I reinstall it does boot up with bootskin then goes no further. when I restart windows I can only get windows going when I choose start windows with the last settings that worked, and that takes me back to the windows boot up screen.

CDOB - Have you tried all 3 Bootskin programs offered for DL? It is said that sometimes one of them will work, but then sometimes none of them will work..

Also, one thing you might try is upgrading your BIOS, if bootskin worked with SP1 then a BIOS upgrade may do the trick. You can either get one from your MoBo's website or your BIOS manufacturer's site (if one is available at all)

However..
I strongly recommend that you get someone that is familiar with upgrading BIOS if you have never done it, or you do not feel comfortible doing it, a bad BIOS upgrade can ruin your entire day..

Those are my suggestions, hopefully something works for you,
Zero.

CDOB - I am using Bootskin version 1.05a and it works with SP2 on my machine. Check your version number and try one of the others as Zero has suggested.
